"3:00am....LONG NIGHT" Series. The photo was done at about 3:00 am on a very rainy morning. I didn't smoke all those cigarettes ( I used my room mates cigarettes, he smokes non-filters and I felt that non-filters would look better) and I didn't drink all that booze ( it's really 90% Arizona ice tea and 10% coca cola), but I wanted to tell a story. Why is the subject smoking and drinking so much? And why is he looking at that photo. It's not the kind of photo you'd have on your Dining room table, so in his drunken state he needs to look at that photo.  But WHY?  It's up to the viewer to try and guess. It adds the power of suggestion.  I love that kind of stuff, even when I'm the viewer.

"3:00am.......LONG NIGHT" Series, and it's the second night that this guy is binge drinking and having a "Long Night". ( different glass, different booze), and yes, the photo is on the table. I'd like to think that it continues the story and intensifies the WHY as to what is on this persons mind, and why he's having such a "Long Night".

" 3:00am.....LONG NIGHT".  This guy realizes that there's a Bar close by that's opened every morning till 4:00 am, so off he goes just to get out of that GOD DAMNED apartment,  but the issues he's having with his attachment to that photo in his apartment continue to torment him. But.......What does that photo mean to him?   All the Booze in the world can't help him.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f2.8 lens

3:00am....LONG NIGHT", He has arrived back to his apartment, his HELL.This guy's so drunk, he's sober. What's the first thing he can't help but see as he enters, the photo on the table. Taken with a Canon 50 millimeter f/1.8 lens

3:00am....LONG NIGHT"  After a few more drinks he flips and does what many people in their drunken and guilty state of mind do. He falls to his knees and prays to a Crusifix. He seems to be screaming, but what?  Is he asking forgiveness, or maybe saying that he's not responsible for something? Who knows
  Taken with a 35 Millimeter f/2.8 lens,

3:00am....LONG NIGHT" Obviously our subject has passed out from his drunkeness, but still the photo is there. WHY? You tell me.
That's the beauty of it .

This photo was taken at a City Hall Wedding that I did for a friend. These two were so cute that I wanted to take a photo of them, but just as I was about to take the photo something distracted them and they both turned and I took the photo feeling that I "blew" the shot.  At home looking at the photo on my Big Screen PC, I realized that this photo is precious.  I'm glad they were distracted

I like calling this photo, "The Lady and the Vastness of the Sky". There's the Statue of Liberty with no distractions like buildings, people, The Port of New York etc.and in Mono Chromatic, (Black and White) it makes it.

This is a PAN of a  man on his way to wherever.  Like many photographers, I've taken numerous PANS and for the most part they don't come out very well. This one did.

These are two Night Photos taken in New York City. Both have a touch of Sepia added to them.
Taken with a Canon 24 Millimeter f/ 2.8 lens.

The central subject is hands down the gentleman who is smiling and the women with him who is also smiling at the little boy for something he is obviously saying.  I love the feeling of the photo.  His                                                                   smile makes me smile.

On a recent trip to Washington DC, I could't pass up a stellar moment to take a photo of the Capitol Bldg. The ambient lighting was perfect and so we're those beautiful clouds. I think it is Beautiful in it's simplicity.

A very peaceful day in Miami, and a Grand view from my terrace. The clouds alone were worth the photo.  Taken with a Canon 28-70 f /2.8 Millimeter Zoom lens

A photo of my Mom at age 22 in Italy

A very lonely and attractive sky just as dawn approaches. Also shot in Miami.
Taken with a Canon 28-70 f /2.8 Zoom lens.
Also in Miami, a night scene of the harbor. The clouds, the ripples on the water and other subjects, I think add to a lovely and very relaxing photo.
Taken with a Canon 50 Millimeter f /1.8 lens.
The last of my Miami photos and one of my favorites. As I passed this cat on my way to take photos of the Harbor, the cat woke up, it had been sleeping quite comfortably.  Well my passing woke it up, and as they say, "if looks could Kill", that cat looked at me with total anger, which caused me to take the photo.  I spent a good part of the morning there and when I left, I walked about 50 yards away from that cat, who happened to be sleeping again.

I love "Night Photography", and these two photos were taken from Long Island City, Queens, NYC.  Both were taken with a Canon 50 Millimeter f /1.8 lens with a longer than usual shutter release.

A simple photo of a Bridge in Central Park, NYC. shot at 11:00 pm, but with a long shutter release it almost looks like daytime. I love the reflection of the Bridge on the water. Amazing what you can do with long shutter releases.
 Taken with a Canon 50 Millimeter f /1.8 lens.

Another photo shot at night of one of the buildings that constitute Rockefeller Center, NYC. It had to be shot on the fast side because they don't like people setting up a Tri-Pods in Midtown ever since 9/11, and you need a Tri-Pod for night photography.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens
with a 60 second Shutter Release.

This is a photo taken north from Carl Shurtz Park in NYC. It's the  foot Bridge going to Randall's Island. It was a very cloudy day and the clouds were wonderful.  A little structure to the photo on Photoshop Elements, and "viola" a Dramatic photo.
Taken with a Canon 24 Millimeter f /2.8 lens.

A simple photo of a salt and pepper shaker on a table at one of the many restaurants in NYC that have an outside addition to their restaurant. A very good friend of mine wrote a poem for this photo called "LOTTI and PIPER".

A photo of myself that's been Water colored.

Another photo of myself with my hands covering my face that I did for a Class that I'm very proud to be a part of, "THE INFINITY CLASS", at B&H Photo. The project was called, "Lyric-ography",  where you used a photo and the lyrics to a song that you felt added to the photo..  You can join this Photo Group at B&H Photo, if you're serious about your photography, FOR FREE.  It wasn't easy to do this project. It took two separate photos on top of each other and the problem was to show the bottom photo without ruining the top photo.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens , and of course Photo Shop.

This is a dear friend of mine, and the son of a very famous Jazz musician. His name, just as his father's is Charles Mingus. I enjoy this photo of him for it's relaxed intensity.
Taken with a Canon 50 Millimeter f /1.8 lens.

This is a gentleman in my neighborhood that spends his days and nights walking. I've seen him as far downtown as Canal Street and as high uptown as 116th Street, East side and West, New York City, N.Y. I've spoken to him and he told me that he hates, Buses, Trains, Bicycles, Taxi Cabs and any other sort of transportation.  He said to me"...God invented legs long before anything else was invented".   He's also one of those rare persons that enjoys his photo being
taken. I like the guy, but he has a lot on his mind.

The daughter of two friends of mine.  Her name is Charlotte Rose, and she's all of 18 months old.  She has truly the most beautiful Blue Eyes I've ever seen

This is good friend of mine, Marco Mazzocco, who needed a photo for his professional dealings, so we took what I believe to be a good photo of a serious business man.  He loved it and uses it for                                                      his photo on his internet presentations.
                                              Taken with a Canon 50 Millimeter f /1.8 lens.

This is a photo of my best friends band, Lou Caputo and his  "The Not So Big Band", and they happen to be  a Great Jazz Band.  They play all over, but mostly in Greenwich Village.  He loved the                                          photo and uses it for his advertisements for the Band.
Taken with a Canon 28-75 Millimeter f /2.8 Zoom lens.

This is a random photo taken below canal St. NYC, and what I liked is how the subject is to the left, but the real photo is centered, .and I love the old fire escapes and the cobble stone street.
 Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens.

This is triptych for a project called "Coming and Going".  It's an elderly couple and it's obviously a very cold day. It tells a story. Look how she holds on to him for strength, but he's not getting any younger. The last shot is sad. Just another old couple on their way, without anyone noticing or caring.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens.

This is a photo of a simple door in So Ho NYC. It can't help but catch your eye.  Very colorful and worn out. "Come in we're Open". the sign says, but do you want to venture in?
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2,8 lens.

How can you call yourself any kind a photographer and not take a photo of the Moon. This was shot on a very cold and clear night. Taken with a Tamron 70- 300 Millimeter f/4-5.6 Zoom lens. put at full zoom and white balance put to Sunlight being that the Moon gets it's light from the Sun and with no UV filter, and a  2 minute Shutter release

These two photos encompass the many things we're surrounded by in our living quarters, that we never notice. Years ago this was a beautiful artwork with a clock in the middle. Well it's been quite a while since the clock  stopped working beyond repair and was removed, which caused it to lose it's importace and beauty. So it was put on a  shelf and forgotten, till I looked at it one day and realized that it would make an excellent photo. With the right lighting, accentuating the shadows and highlights, and in Mono Chromatic ( Black and White), I think it WORKS.  The first is a close up on the face, and a friend of mine who is a poet, Lois Kagen Mingus, was so moved by the photo that she wrote a poem for it, and the second is the full subject with some flowers where the clock once was.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens.

A simple photo of roses taken in Mono Chromatic (Black and White). I love the feel of the photo, and the B/W effect gives it a special feel that defies what color they are.
Taken with a Canon 50 millimeter  f /1.8 lens.

These are three simple photos of flowers.  In this day and age, every bodies a photographer, and they all love to shoot photos of flowers on top of the other subjects they like. I know that I've seen more photos of flowers than I care to. Their beautiful, but very rarely inspiring.  So I took these three photos to Photo Shop and tried to make them more interesting.
Taken with a Canon 35 Millimeter f /2.8 lens.

This is strange photo of my favorite pooch.  Her name is Roxy, my nieces dog, and she's a beautiful Golden Labrador Retriever.I shot it with my old T1i Canon camera using the built in flash that most photographers hate. I enhanced it in Photo Shop so that only her face is discernible.
Taken with a Canon 24-70 f/2.8 Zoom lens

This is a refection photo. The reflection in the puddle of water is of two people conversing with umbrellas in a rain storm. Taken in Carl Shurtz Park, NYC
